When people say, “I am unhappy despite being
successful", I probe and look into why is it that
despite the success they are unhappy. As a social
scientist, I discovered that most of us are unhap-
py in life because we look and focus on only one
aspect of life. For example, you have many
rooms in your house, but you solely focus on
one room and keep it tidy while neglecting all
other rooms. You will then nd that the lth in
other rooms will eventually invade the room
that you kept clean. Your eorts to create com-
fort in one space will be undermined by the lack
of attention to the entire home, leading to over-
all discomfort. Likewise, life has many compart-
ments/zones, and if we focus on one, and
neglect the other, then the cobwebs in other
compartments will start invading and contami-
nating the zone that one has maintained metic-
ulously. I have come to understand that life has
ve basic compartments and only if one works
in all these zones, one’s life will be meaningful
and happy.
The "intimate zone" refers to something private
to you. Being a unique individual, you have your
internal calling, and you need to fulll that
calling. A housewife may have the talent and
desire to be a painter, but she is too busy being a
housewife and does not fulll her calling to be a
painter. Then, despite being a successful house-
wife, she becomes an unsuccessful and unhappy
individual.
In your "family zone," attending to the needs and
demands of your family is important. As you do
so, it's crucial to also concentrate on your "work
zone." Strive for creativity in your work zone,
because if you don't, the resulting lack of fulll-
ment can lead to inner tension. The tension from
the mind spills over to the body, making you
unhappy and unwell.
Then there is the "social zone". No man is an
island. We are all interdependent individuals;
helping others is helping yourself, and hurting
others is hurting yourself. Thus, when you start
developing positive relationships, this results in
the beautication of society, in which you can
enjoy and live happily.
Finally, every one of us has a spiritual seeker
within. Maslow's "Hierarchy of Needs" postu-
lates that in each of us, there is an "Actualization”
need. But we don’t listen to the call of the
innite, the call of the good, the call of the
divine. As our mind is lost in petty pursuits. We
must listen to this call and try to respond to
satisfy our "spiritual zone".
So, like a good housewife who tends to all rooms
in the house and creates a cozy: Home Sweet
Home, life should also be approached in the
same multi-dimensional way. By addressing all
aspects of life's zones, a sense of well-being is
cultivated. This well-being brings comfort,
allowing us to live in harmony with our circum-
stances. If one can learn the art of being at peace
with what is, then our life will be poetry as for
most life is prose.
If the heart has only prose, even when you read
poetry, it will become prose. But, if your heart
has poetry, read prose and the prose will
become poetry. Therefore, if you want to live

Over the decades researchers have studied the
benecial eects of Yoga on specic systems of
humans, while others have focused on the gen-
eral wellbeing of individuals. They concluded
that practicing Yoga has several scientically
proven benecial eects that are mentioned
below.
1. Reduced stress, anxiety, and depression.
2. Reduced the intensity of physiological
ailments.
3. Improved concentration and attention.
4. Improved sleep.
5. Promoted healthy habits.
6. Improved physical health.
7. Improved brain functioning.
8. Improved emotional balance.
9. Improved mental health.
10. Improved personal and social life.
Basically, there are four types/paths of Yoga:
Karma, Bhakli, Jnana, and Raja whereas the four
requirements to start Yoga are: Proper diet,
Proper breathing, Proper exercise, and
Proper/Positive thinking. Although it is easy and
possible to learn Yoga online, from a book or
DVD as it is a low-risk activity. However, some-
times it can cause injury, primarily sprains or
strains. Poor technique, pre-existing physical
conditions or excessively trying too hard can
also cause further injury. So, the best way to
learn and practice Yoga is under the supervision
of a qualied teacher in a private session or a
group (Ref: The International Sivananda Yoga
Center, India).
Finally, this brief article is based upon my
personal experience, as I and my wife have been
practicing Yoga at home for the last few months
under the supervision of a qualied teacher and
both have noticed its several benecial eects
on us. In short, I will strongly and sincerely
advise the readers of this Newsletter to start
practicing Yoga, as it has signicantly improved
our quality of life and well-being.

We all have heard the saying “A healthy body is a
healthy mind” and according to WHO: Health is a
state of complete physical, mental and social
wellbeing. It is not merely the absence of
disease or inrmity. This notion is the primary
focus of the discipline of Community Medicine
which is now also known as The Public Health.
Public health is the art and science of preventing
diseases, promoting health, and prolonging life
through the organized eorts of community
members. A community consists of many indi-
viduals living together in a dened geographical
area, sharing common interests, goals, and ways
of life. Several factors aect community health,
including housing, education, safety, nancial
security, nutrition, and the environment. While
not all these factors are directly under individual
control, they are integral to the places where
people grow up, live, and work, signicantly
contributing to the overall health of the commu-
nity.

Although it is the government's duty to manage
these factors and implement a comprehensive
Health Care Plan through its healthcare teams, it
is equally important for community members to
have some knowledge about this subject. This
awareness allows them to learn from the plan's
ndings and develop personal strategies to
maintain their own health.
The glands in the human body are the stepping
stones on the journey towards health. There are
at least 43 glands, which act as doorways
between our spirit, thoughts, emotions, and
body. It has been empirically proven that these
glands receive messages from us that manifest
in life-giving properties. Therefore, it is import-
ant to nourish our glands with healthy messag-
es, making health a permanent presence and an
impressive ame in our lives. This can only be
achieved by adopting a healthy lifestyle. One
eective approach is the 5H-Theory, which
emphasizes incorporating the following
elements into your life:
1. Healthy Food
2. Healthy Thoughts
3. Healthy Feelings
4. Healthy Actions
5. Healthy Goals
This consists of eating a balanced diet, maintain-
ing positive and optimistic thoughts, experienc-
ing feelings of love, appreciation, and belong-
ing, engaging in physical exercise and enjoyable
leisure activities, performing noble deeds, and
doing something benecial for society. In short,
by adopting and manifesting these practices in
your life, the wellspring of Hope, Healing,
Health, and Happiness will be inevitable and
unstoppable.
